About Us

Capital Region Romance Writers of America is a welcoming and supportive community of professionals working together to provide networking, educational and promotional opportunities for our authors. Our members write in every genre of romance, and include beginning writers as well as best-sellers at the height of their careers.

Everyone is welcome! We truly believe that we all have a love story to tell.

We asked our members how they would describe themselves, their careers, and this chapter. Here’s what they had to say!

What We Do:

Our chapter meets on the second Saturday of every month at the East Greenbush Public library.

The highlight of most meetings is a workshop conducted by a member, local author, or visiting guest on a topic related to the craft and business of writing. Past speakers have included Kristan Higgins, Gwen Hayes, KA Mitchell, Alexis Daria, Adriana Herrera, Carina editor Angela James, and Entangled founder Liz Pelletier. Details about the current meeting schedule are available here

Our members appreciate the chance to network and socialize. The conversation begins over snacks during the meeting and continues online throughout the month, both through our email loops and social media. During our annual fall retreat, we gather in the Catskills to build community and enjoy some much-needed time to focus on our writing.

We are committed to being a welcoming community that embraces diversity and inclusion. Our Better Writing Through Empathy program highlights this effort and keeps us focused on this important and ongoing work.

We encourage you to learn more about our programs and services, our authors, and our leadership — or better yet, visit our chapter to get a feel for what our meetings are like in person. When you’re ready, find out more about the benefits of membership, plus complete your application online!
